1 TITL Lady [02182001.FTW] Legend has suggested her father was Lord Howard. Research has pointedtoward Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham. He became Lord HighAdmiral in 1585. As an Earl, his daughter would be titled a Lady.British royal lineages do not show Charles Howard having any daughters(see http://www.dcs.hull.ac.uk/cgi-bin/gedlkup/n=royal?royal17238). Itis possible that daughters were not considered important enough toinclude in the birth records. It is also possible that Alice was theillegitimate daughter of Charles Howard and therefore not officiallyrecorded. This connection will require further examination, but thegeography, titles and vital dates are consistent with those of AliceClifford.
